Bug - Put a magic trap scroll and a chest in your backpack. Use the scroll on the chest. It won't disappear!!! Open the chest and it goes boom and your magic resistance goes up. (I have not tested this one out yet, so let me know if it works)

About guildstone info I posted yesterday. It seems as if you can't place guildstones during the current housing patch unless you trully are the owner of the house with a key. So if this is really the case, this would also prevent you from being able to just select the closest castle that has not been claimed yet, and placing the guildstone inside. Well, if anyone else has a different story, or possibly a screen shot of getting it to work, let me know.

December 12, 1998

Sorry for the late post tonight, but I am working on a new format for the page. I will be adding a seciton for your personal stories, philosophies and ideas about UO. Along with that, as I mentioned yesterday, I will be setting up a petition area, to fight for the removal of stat loss on murderers. Look for these changes either tomorrow or monday.

Be Careful - I have gotten a couple of letters saying that GMs are banning for 24 hours if they see you crashing people with fake language code, or even if you use the stretched text. I don't know why they would really care, but they are watching.

Just a thought - I found this post kinda interesting, which does bring up a few ideas. We know that house selection is done based on a priority. We also know that within the priority, is a GM of a Guild where the guildstone is in the house. So, I know they fixed a few of these, but here is what you think about. If there was a way to place a guild stone in a house that hasn't been claimed, you could claim the house, based on the fact that you just placed a guildstone there and are now the guildmaster. I know a few reasons why this wouldn't work, but I also know a few reason why it may work. Possibly placing it outside on the steps of the house will give you that opportunity. If this does work, I know several castles that are empty, that would be easily acquired. Let us know if you have an extra 15k setting around and want to try. After all, if it works, you could always get the deed for both the guild stone, and the house back.

Rumors - Well nothing but more talk on Black smithy bugs. I received another report that said he was able to take ingots out of a secured container in his house and make items without using the ingots. Fool around with this one and let me know if you find a way to do it.

PKs Live - The majority of the talk around the UO community now a days seems to be focused on how to bring PKing back. Considering that OSI hates nothing more than even the thought of PKing, It may be hard to get the approval. A few reports that have come around in the last month include OSI's agreement, or at least a rumor, that they will eliminate Stat Loss on Murderers if there is enough interest from the public. It was suggested that you write OSI directly and tell them how you feel. At the same time, I am working with some close friends on a way to bring back evil characters on a role playing event. All in all, there is a lot of talks about this subject and how we proceed from here on out, may determine if we get what we want or not. Over the course of the next few days, I will be developing a new link that will give everyone in the UO world, the ability to VOTE, and SIGN a petition on Murder Counts, Stat Loss and Evil Characters. I understand we won't have OSI approval right off the bat, but I trully feel that we will be heard. From there, I will continue to develop a means by which we can communicate what we would like in the game on an evil side. I feel, as Im sure alot of you do, evil people have needs and feelings too.

Screen Shot - Of late, I have been publishing a lot of screen shots. Even though I have been successful maybe a dozen times, I'm sure several of you, have never seen a true purple llama vortex. OSI programmed this little easter egg into the system, with a rarity of about 1 out of every 10,000 vortex. So, the next time you cast EV, don't be surprised if you find something that looks like this...

Rumors - Well, could it be that this actually works? Not sure, but here is what I was given for the recent rumors on a blacksmithy bug. We will call it the "Harbringer Effect" after the guy who told us. Here is the steps, test it out, and let us know. Sounds kinda ify, but they swear it works.

1. Mark runes to as many forges as you can find
2. At the first forge, start making an item that takes a LONG time to make...like plate chest
3. Recall then as fast as you can to as many other forges as possible one after another.
4. If your succussful you will spend the normal amount of ingots but rise up in as many points as you would as if you had successuly created the item at each spot. In effect reducing ingot cunsumption and speeding up smithing.

I name this after the gentleman who gave it to me......Harbringer. If this works lemme know....only serious smiths need apply - it is not an instant stat raiser, but will quicken it a lot!

OSI Bugs in English - While I was killing Lich Lords with some friends, a guy was provoking liches to attack each other. This General Message started popping up about a bug. OSI usually puts Debug messages into the script to remind them of places they need to rework. Every so often you will see these scripts pop up, because they forget to hide them. Here is one that I captured in my journal...now you tell me if this isn't the reason why we have bugs in the first place.

Rumors - Based on yesterdays Rumor it seems as if the main focus is on the ability to dupe ingots. I do not know how, nor do I know if it is valid but I have seen several people talking about it. About a month ago, I recieved another such rumor on duping ingots. This was done by having two people smelt ore at the exact same time on the exact same anvil. Ingots were made, but ore wasn't used. This may be the technique that is running around the rumor mills right now. If anyone has any clues to this, please send me mail.

Bug - Poison Immunities. Unconfirmed as of now. If you poison a piece of bread with a minor poison it does not work. Eat the bread and you will have the status of being poisoned but no damage or harm will happen. Now you can fight people with poisoned weapons without fear of being poisoned. You can not be double poisoned so no negative effect will happen. Great for guild battles or attacking poison eles. Just eat a piece of bread before you fight.

And as far as the bug I posted yesterday to stretch out your text across the screen...here is the screen shot that shows how it should look like if done properly. I should assume this will garnish more talks.

December 8, 1998

Rumors - There is yet more talks on a blacksmithy bug. Along the same lines a way to dupe ingots. Im not sure if these are valid or if they are just a story developed for a true desire to gain blacksmithy skill. Either way Im posting the rumor to see if anything comes our way.

Bug - Ever seen anyone say stretched out text. This is an old bug, but I decided to post the steps for all of you to use. First create a macro in UO that has your character say or shout something. For instance, let's create a macro that says "TWISTER" when you hit F1. Now simply go into your macro.txt file in your UO directory and edit it with a simple text editor. Skim through the macros until you find F1 and the text that goes with the macro. Now place in the middle of the letters this symbol - Æ - (just cut and paste it from here). Now your file should show something like this.

TÆÆÆWÆÆÆIÆÆÆSÆÆÆTÆÆÆEÆÆÆR

You see that "TWISTER" is in the middle of the symbols. Now just load up UO again and press your F1 Macro key and you should get this on the screen!

TÆÆÆWÆÆÆIÆÆÆSÆÆÆTÆÆÆEÆÆÆR

Play with it for awhile until you get the hang of it, and have some fun messing with people's minds.

Hack and Crash - This has been confirmed and it also seems as if there is a way to fix it to prevent someone from crashing you. Verify the settings in your UO.cfg file for TranslationServer and turn them off. Otherwise, have fun crashing people and killing them.

True Hack - As we mentioned yesterday about the Netscape and IE bugs that allow any web site to capture any file it specifies off of your hard drive, there is indeed a fix. Visit the Netscape and Internet Explorer Official web sites to find the fix, to prevent this file capture bug.

Ostards to the Main Land - Ever wanted an Ostard to travel around with you on the main lands. Well can't do it specifically, but this is a wonderful little trick discovered by PoRnOsTaR of Baja. It's an old easter egg that has been around a while, but has now changed with the addition of T2A. Check out this screen shot. Sorry for the extra size, but wanted you to see that it is really in the main land at Britain's Mage Shop.

Easy to do, just poly morph into a dog, then drink a potion. I know its not that exciting, but if you have T2A installed, its a funny site. If you don't have T2A installed, you just see a dog.

Hack and Crash - There may be a new way to crash people's clients rather easily. It seems that if you alter your language files, maybe by making the system think that it is a different language, or actually making the language file an "unknown" language, when UO processes the language translations, it will crash. So for instance, If I set up on my system a new language called TwisTernese, and logged online, every time I talked to someone who had language translations set for on, it would crash them because UO wouldn't be able to translate TwisTernese. Or if I told the system that I was using German, but was actually using French, it's possible that the translation server would get confused and also crash everyone's client when I talked. None of this is confirmed, yet rather is a rumor, but maybe you can get something out of it, and test different possibilities yourself. Let us know what you find.

True Hacks - It was reported on XsploitZ about a new bug in Netscape. Let me warn you, this is was first discovered as a bug in Internet Explorer about 5 months ago. The only reason I never posted anything was to try to prevent the spread of the information. Pretty much, it is as simple as capturing your UO.CFG file straight off of your Hard Drive the moment you visit a web site, or hit a link. The only way I can recommend stopping this, is being fully aware of the site you are visiting. Also, since both Netscape and IE need to know the exact location of your UO.CFG file to be able to capture it, I would suggest as a procaution, to move your UO directory to a less familiar directory. For instance, Instead of having it set up at c:/uo/uo.cfg you may move it to c:/nothere/uo/uo.cfg - what happens now is when the system browser tries to capture your uo.cfg in the uo directory, it can't find it, and nothing is sent. And since they could never program in or even predict that you would have it in the nothere directory, they won't be able to get your file. Now please be creative and use your own "hidden" directories. This however is not a true defense for this bug, so please everyone be very cautious of unknown sites.

Bank Everywhere or Every SHARD? - This is and old tip but thought I would reissue it. If you create a character on another shard with the same name as your current shard, you could actually use the bank anywhere feature for both characters. This is ideal for new characters to be able to have access to runes on new shards. You can also use the same bank files if you change the name of your main character, to the name of the new character on the new shard.

Bug Tip - Telekenisis and your bank = alot of interesting possibilites. It was reported a while ago, and maybe you didn't know, but with the use of UOE and the spell Telekenisis, you could have a lot of fun. First off, with UOE, make sure you have a macro already set up to open bank vault anywhere. No place various items in your bank that you can access. We already know that if you have a rune there, you can recall off of it. If you have your house key there, you can cast tele on the key and then access your front door. Also, one report stated that if you use the spell on a dye tub, you could change the colors of your clothes. Im sure there are numerous other possibilities, so take a look and see what you find.

Again, yet another reminder. Please empty out your cache, and temp internet files completely. ALSO, change your book mark to read the following address for this site. This needs to look identical.

http://members.home.com/drtwister

NOTE : .NET, or .NET:80 or .COM:80 are not recommended. Please use the above address. This should fix all refresh problems. Please notify me if you had problems before and now they are fixed after doing the above steps.

BUGS - A "twist" on the old tailoring bug. It use to be if you placed 125 items in your backpack you could macro tailoring without material loss and recieve skill gain. That was fixed, however now all you need to do is "overload" yourself with excessive weight, and the macro works the same. When you tailor while being overloaded with extra weight, the system says, you can not hold that, and your skill raises, the item is not made and best of all, your materials are not wasted. Test this out and report back. Also, It didn't work before, but some of you may try to do this with other skills like blacksmithing, bowyering, alchemy, carpentry, or tinkering. Overload yourself so that you can not carry anything else, and perform the various skills. Let us know what you find.

Finally, I have to admit, the feuding between UOShack and Xsploitz is getting childish.

The day has come, where there is a fruitcake out there pretending he is me. This dweeb is contacting people via ICQ and informing them that he has a new beta version of UOE7. This is a lie and he is distributing a PW stealer. I know it's hard not to be me, but grow up and realize I am by far superior to you. So for all of you out there that are worried, or may have even been contacted by someone claiming to be me, it is not. Here is a few basic things to keep in mind, that will help determine if you are talking to the Real Dr.TwisTer.

1. I spell my name everytime all the time as Dr.TwisTer - no spaces, and capital T's.

2. I am the ONLY DrTwisTer in ICQ. Do a search, I will pop up.

3. I do not chat with anyone in ICQ that I do not know.

4. I do not ICQ people I do not know, or that I have not yet established a contact with.

5. I do not distribute software. If I do, it's through this site here, and is always a link straight from the source.

6. I also, do not have a character ONLINE in the GAME with the name DrTwisTer. This helps keep my identity silent. So if someone comes up to you with a character named Dr.TwisTer, it is not me, and they will probably be banned really quick if OSI think's it's me. This should also help you if you are debating on wether to make a character with my name.

7. I have had my name for quite some time, and if you ask, I will tell you how I came up with the name.

8. Ny Email is [email protected]. WRITE me a letter, and if I respond then it's me.

9. I can give the TRUE identity of Mr.ExMalagent (my admin on the message board).

10. If you still are not sure if it is me or not, ask the person if they know the full ingredients of a Tootsie Roll Pop. I will answer in less that 10 seconds. If they take longer, it's not me.

Well there really isn't that many bugs out there, but have you seen what the next patch is going to look like?  Well you can read the details on UO Official Site, or on the Vault, but I would have to say, just from reading the text, there has to be a screw up somewhere.  Also, if you have house keys, you might start staking those houses out so you can put claim to them when the patch goes into effect.  You will actually be able to turn houses back into deeds as far down the scale as if you just so happen to be a guild member on  a guild stone that is in a house.  No understand, there is a long list of people ahead of you who has priority to claim the house, but if they don't then it's open game.

New patch is in place today.  And just like that, a new UOE is available for the fix.  They can't stop us can they!?  The information that you need is as follows...

You probably already know, but there was a patch today which rendered UOE non-functional.  They completed changed part of their encryption algorithm, so just updating the calibration numbers isn't enough.  Thus, I have posted UOE 6.07e.   This version will work with the new patch. Follow these steps exactly.

Run UO normally so you get the client patch
Install UOE 6.07e
Change the calibration numbers to reflect these :
#1 947897804
#2 34934982

You MUST download 6.07e. Just updating the calibration numbers in 6.07d is not enough.

Click here to download UOE6.07e  :  Or visit UOExtreme Official Web Site for more details.

Finally, I don't like to beg, but I do have reasons behind my madness.  So if you are on Sonoma, and happen to have any spare scrolls, to place in my new spell book, or if you have a spare house I could macro in, please get in touch with me.  I need to pump up a brand new character on Sonoma throughout the next month.  If you are wondering why, I will eventually reveal my secret.

First things first. I need to clarify a statement I made yesterday (which by the way was mislabeled as 11/29 instead of 11/30). While talking about password stealing programs I used the phrase "I love the joy of villainy". This was a personal statement relating to actually having an enjoyment for evil activities. This phrase, although refered to as my friend Nighthawk's web site "The Joy of Villainy" was not mentioned as a relationship between his site, and the distribution or the encouragement of password stealers. Both Nighthawk and myself publicly despise these activities and neither his site, or mine approve of the use or distribution of these programs. I apologize for any misrepresentations I have made.

New site as entered our domain, so please take a moment to visit another Baja buddy, the Murderer Pi at Outlaw Immortals.

And has it come time for the end of our loved bugs? Show me the bugs! I see none! OH NO MR BILL!!!!
